Mr. Tamura was awarded the prize from the Arion
Music Foundation, a prize which is awarded for
only one artist every year. No pianist was able
to garner this prize for the last 20 years! Other
winners from the past include Daishin Kashimoto
(violin), Yutaka Sado (conductor) and many of
Japan's important musicians.
