Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Anastasia
moved with her family to Moscow at the age of four. She started the
violin at age five. Three years later, her exceptional talent was
discovered by the famous professor Irina Bochkova, who was the student
and follower of the legendary Yu Yankelevich. After studying at the
Moscow Central Music School, she graduated from the Moscow Conservatory
in 1996 and earned a Master's degree at the Moscow Conservatory in
1998, consistently following the traditional Russian Method.
As a student, Anastasia was greatly influenced by meetings with outstanding
musicians such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Yehudi Menuhin and Isaac
Stern. She became a laureate in the Paganini International Competition
in Italy (1989), as well as the International Juventus Festival in
France (1991). In 1992 she won the first prize and all special prizes
at the International R. Lipizer Competition in Italy. Anastasia's
active career path opened when she won the highest prize (second place)
in the 10th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, bringing
her to concerts all over Russia, Europe, USA and throughout the world.
Anastasia has appeared in major venues such as the Great Hall of the
Moscow Conservatory, Royal Albert Hall (London), Beethoven Hall (Berlin),
Wiener Konzerthaus and Bruchnerhaus (Austria) and many more, and collaborated
with Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra directed by Vladmir Fedoseev,
St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Yuri Temirkanov,
Wiener Kammerorchester directed by Jean Fournet, Boston Symphony,
NHK Symphony and many others. She has more than 30 concerto repertoires,
and appears in concerts and recitals of solo and chamber music.
Anastasia has been the assistant professor at the Moscow Conservatory
since 1999, and she was the special professor at the Kurashiki Sakuyo
University in Japan from 2000 until 2007. She takes a unique style
of performing between Russia and Japan, as well as throughout the
world.
In Japan, she took part in the music of Meiji Nyugyo Company's ice
cream "AYA" TV commercial in 1999; TBS television program
"Neighborly" in 2002; NHK television show "Hello from
the Studio Park" in 2003. She has appeared in radios and television
shows such as the guest performer for NHK television's 46th New Year
Opera Concert in 2003, Television Asahi's "No-Title Musicale"
in 2003, NHK Special Environmental Concert in 2004, NHK-BS "Cinema
Music Series" in 2004, NHK TV program "The Japan Foundation
Special Prizes for Educational Programs" in 2004. She took part
in the music for several dramas and shows such as Fuji Television's
"Sonagi" (2002), and the main theme of NHK's daily drama
"Hiiro no Kioku" in 2003. Both of the music were composed
by Taro Iwashiro, and CD "Arco" was released.
In the Fuji Television's 45th anniversary drama "Violin Crossing
the Strait", Anastasia appeared in the drama as a role of a violinist.
Moreover, she performed for the Japan-Russia 150th amity celebration
concert in 2005, Suntory Hall 19th Anniversary Gala Concert "Hibiki"
in 2005, NHK's "Meikyoku Album" Spain version in 2007, NHK
New Year Concert in Nagoya in 2007, and others.
Anastasia has been performing in Chirstmas Concerts at Tokyo Opera
City Concert Hall and Suginami Concert Hall every year. Her CD recordings
include "Carmen Fantasie" (from Ongaku no Tomo), "Souvenir
de Moscow", "Andaluza con Passion", "Portrait
de Fantasie", "Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn Concerti",
"Tema d'Amore Cinema Collection", "Valse des Fleurs",
and "Romantic Virtuoso" from King Records. She currently
released her first DVD "Anastasia Violin Best" in 2007.
Anastasia has collaborated with the
NHK Symphony, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony
Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Century Orchestra Osaka,
Osaka Symphoniker, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Yomiuri Japan Symphony,
Hiroshima Symphony, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Sapporo Symphony,
Tokyo Symphony, Kyushu Symphony, Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra,
Yamagata Symphony and many others, and performed with conductors such
as Kazuyoshi Akiyama, Michiyoshi Inoue, late Hiroyuki Iwaki, Norichika
Iimori, Heiichiro Oyama, Yukio Kitahara, Seikyo Kim, Kozai Kim, Kazuhiro
Koizumi, Tatsuya Shimono, Daisuke Soga, Tomomi Nishimoto, Sachio Fujioka,
Yoko Matsuo, Hideaki Muto, Yasuo Watanabe, Rudolf Werthen, Daniel
Inbal, Kenneth Hsieh, and Christian Orosanu. Her recent performanes
include collaboration with Kenichiro Kobayashi.
In her chamber music concerts, she has collaborated with pianists
Andrei Pisarev, Vladmir Ovchinnikov, Dmitri Teterin, Peter Laul, and
harpist Xavier de Maistre.
Anastasia was awarded the prestigious title of "Russian Federal
Distinguished Artist" from the Russian Government in 2004.
